I Don't understand.

 As a true fan of the sport I don't understand. Veterans Memorial Stadium needs to bigger. At the risk of sounding like Netflix Wednesday's version of Uncle Fester. Throughout my lifetime I have played the sport, and attended games. I have seen almost every level middle school,  high school, and college. Nowadays more and more fanbases student section is not there for the game. 

Veterans Memorial Stadium student section is in middle visitors side. A student section so large next to the band. Veterans Memorial Stadium doesn't have much room for  visitors. Troy University homecoming weekend no one was cheering for the defense until third. Not one players name chanted like they knew he came to play. 

In 2003 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors played Appalachian state at Aloha stadium not a student in sight it seemed. 50,000 seats, yet I have seen better turnout at a HBCU regular season. Before Vick at Norfolk, Jackson at Delaware State, or Prime at Jackson.

September 30th 2023, Davis Wade Stadium 61,000 seats don't know how many cowbells. The Crimson Tide rolled on the Bulldogs During Nick Saban's final season. Dak Prescott's Alma mater swinging cowbells and the fans know why they swing. Though the story is rooted in a lose one might say they're in past causing their own jinx. While screaming Hail State fans describe Ole Miss as the evil empire. The fans were out in support of both teams. 

September 28th 2024, Nick Saban field at Bryant Denny stadium. The Crimson Tide rolled the Georgia Bulldogs in Kalen Doboer's SEC Debut season. 100,000 plus seats room for visitors, fans, and bands. Sitting on the visitors side is cheaper and priceless if you are a true fan of the sport.  Jalen Walker's reaction after Jam Miller stops him in his tracks knocking his helmet off. Leaving the Dawgs looking sad in the second quarter Jalen Milroe rips off 30 plus yards for a touchdown. Not to mention the look on Kirby Smart's face as a Ryan Williams catch goes for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. 

August 30th 2025, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium The Florida Gators abuse the Long Island University Sharks for being in the swamp. Students and fans chanting less go DJ in the first quarter. Billy Napier in firm control on a day Florida quarterbacks threw a touchdown every five or six passes. A 55 point performance Florida's season opener looked like good. USF would knock them out of the Top 25 a week after doing the same to Boise state.

November 31st 2025, Veterans Memorial Stadium Arkansas state's Red Wolves harassed the Troy Trojans for thinking they could have a homecoming. The Red Wolves took a 14 point lead early in the first quarter. Missed blocking assignments and turnovers was the story of the first half. Fraternity and sorority students were not worried about the game. They were there for results of the parade float competition and which members made the homecoming court. It was like they didn't have any football players or cheerleaders in their ranks. 

The student section lost most of its volume before the third quarter. I don't understand this was the first time I've seen a student with such a low morale. The home side wasn't any louder and the fanbase wasn't excited unless they were on the jumbotron. I don't understand how a institution which has multiple cultures and so little school spirit.
